Works 2022
FRSA’s greatest expense during the last year has been the repair and resurfacing of the whole of Beehive Lane (1/2 a kilometre) – the end result has been widely appreciated.
As with any major works it has thrown up a couple of issues. In three locations, the drain gullies became deeper after application of the tarmac and require ‘lifting’, otherwise they would be hazardous particularly for cyclists, this work has yet to be completed. In several locations surplus chippings have fallen into the drains/gullies and soakaways ~ the contractor has since removed the debris.
We have also carried out ‘pot hole repairs’ in several locations and also a damaged stretch of highway verge repair in Chalet Road.
A full survey of all the gullies and soakaway drains on all FRSA roads has been commissioned and undertaken, the FRSA has a comprehensive quotation for maintenance work. The major issues identified have been selected for correction in the next round of maintenance.
Further main works included the complete resurfacing of West Drive and Upper West Drive.
